Here we are in London. Jared took us
over the water. I say Jared because he
orchestrated saving our money so that we could afford the trip. We origninally booked the trip because my old teaching partner in Houston was getting married there. I was down about not being able to find a teaching job in dallas that was a good fit for our family so we decided to book it. Jared helped with our budget so that we paid for our trip before going. So proud of him! and low and behold in November the job of my dreams came in front of us in a small more rural town north of dallas. and I love it! Everything about is the right fit for our family. They didn't mind in the least about our trip and in fact encouraged us to do what was right for our family. You see us throwing up our Bearkat paws in many of these pictures because our college team was playing in the semi-finals while over the water. We stayed up until 3:00am skyping and watching the game with friends at the game. crazy. we were up the next day at 6:30 to catch a tube and see the Westminister Abbey. The Tower of London and Westminister Abbey were some of my favorite attractions there. The architecture and history is wonderful. I also really like Hampton Court Palace. The countryside is also really beautiful. Harrods is the upscale shopping experience. Of course we went to the toy section. We missed our children greatly. We were able to skype every night on our ipad in our hotel room with our little ones in Houston. Thank you again Mayra. They were well taken care of and always smiling. When talking to Addison every night she asked when we would be coming home but never cried or even whined. She was pleased to see her friends and was enjoying the Christmas season with family. Jesse of course was the life of the party in Katy. He went to a graduation party and enjoyed visiting with our extended Peruvian family there. Addie has already asked for rice and beans like Mayra makes. Sorry chica, I don't have that gift. To our family in Magnolia and Friendswood: thanks for putting up with us and we promise not to do this every year. Jared is already trying to scheme up a plan to fly into Minnesota to see the Wagners and then rent an RV and drive to Canada with our little ones....we will see. I don't forsee this happening for a while. Get ready for us Jake! It was a great vacation but I can't see us leaving our children any longer. But again we are truly blessed to have Mayra and family that are so wonderful. Hampton Court Palace was one of my favorites. There is the world's largest maze and where they filmed part of Harry Potter the Goblet of Fire. It was difficult and fun at the same time. You had to find the center and then back to the beginning. Jared took a picture of the map once we got to the center. The last day we visited Harrods again and went to the Globe. Its where Shakespeare wrote his pieces of work. It's actually the third building because of time and a fire that hit in the 1500s. I didn't realize that it was open air and that all of the actors were men. They many times preformed in the cold weather of winter. The whole structure is mainly built of oak and wood pegs. Awesome!

Overall, we had a wonderful visit but I am definitely happy to be back in the good ole US of A.

Jesse is fully on his way to cutting teeth. The pediatrician said it wasn't too soon and I think she is right. He chews on anything he can get his mouth onto. He gets frustrated because he can't hold things to his mouth yet for long periods of time and i know it bothers him. He tears up a teething biscuit pretty quickly if you hold it to his mouth.

Addison and Jesse had their well visits today. Stats are in. Jesse is 17.5 pounds and 24.5 inches long. That's 90% in weight.....sturdy boy. Addison is 28.5 pounds and 35.5 inches tall. That's about the 25% for both. Kids are doing great. Both have small ear infections but doing great. Addison in the car says to me, "Mommy thanks for taking me to the doctor."....Love her. Doctor says she is great and doesn't seem to have any problems communicating....ha.

Fall Festival 2011

Mamaw and Papaw came to visit Sunday afternoon after a long journey from Lubbock. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope to do it again soon. The kids had a great time at the Coppell Bible Fellowship Fall Festival. Addison ate popcorn, jumped in a bounce house and searched for candy out of hay. She played the ring toss and some other fun games. She is one smart cookie. She discovered that she couldn't throw the ring on the peg so she went right up to it and placed it on there. We had a great time with Mamaw and Papaw. Addison did a puzzle with Mamaw at the house and then after the festival Addison and Papaw cooked the dogs on the grill. Jesse was quite compliant and did a great green monster all evening. He was tuckered out by bedtime though. Addison also rode a pony at the festival. Hers was name princess and had sparkly hooves and hot pink hair. She had a hard time being patient but Papaw helped her wait her turn in line. The weather was warmer than I initially thought but we all had a great time. Great visit and fellowship!

Trick or Treat 2011

Today the kids and I went to Richardson, Texas, UT Dallas, to trick or treat with my sister's school. It's a community function to have the kids safely trick or treat in a parking lot. Great idea. All kids of organizations can out and decorated their trunks for kids to trick or treat at. But we cut it slightly short because it got cooler than expected. Sleeping Beauty was cold and no amount of candy was going to keep myself and the kids in that since we are still recovering from the crud. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing all of the costumes as well. Now trying to deal with a bucket full of candy and explaining to a two year old why she can't eat it. One piece a day until we can get her sleep back on schedule. We are now on two nights in a row of sleeping through the night without interruptions. If only she could get back to sleeping like her brother again. I didn't realize how fortunate we were until we got sick and they weren't sleeping. Oh and our little man is a green monster from Yo Gabba Gabba.

Three Month pictures

In our last post I took a picture of Jared's leg. Not mine, I would definitely need to shave... :) Jared is in the Covenant Church mens softball league and hit a triple with a slide into third. After that everyone started to run a little faster and the injuries just came. Then Mr. King, while playing first base, caught a throw short to first and did the splits, all while pulling his hamstring. Real men play softball. Hugh! They won both games and he had a great time while doing it. Addie mostly plays in the dirt and tries to sit in the dug out. She doesn't understand why all the daddies get to sit in there. She is great with playing with other kids in the dirt and cheering her daddy on. when he comes up to bat her face is in the fence and she is yelling, "yah daddy! or "that's my daddy". Fun times and we are getting to meet some great people. I met a woman that works from home for HP and I am totally trying to swing a job like that. Jesse feels like a load of bricks and doing well. I take both kids in for their well visits on November first. That's when I will have an official weight. enjoy!

Getting things done at the house

This morning Jesse slept until his usual 5 am and then back to sleep again until 8am. He is so good. Love him! Then the kids and I went to Lifetime for bootcamp. Jesse had a poopy blowout at the gym but otherwise we had a great time and visited with Daddy. Then off to the house where Addie and I baked cookies for Daddy and she put a load of dirty clothes in the wash. Her facials crack me up. So animated about "dirty" and "clean" clothes. Then she helped me load the last of the dishes and we ran the dishwasher. She is becoming such a good helper. We also posted some pictures of Red Day at school. Friday they wore red and had a Clifford the Big Red Dog day. They made dog ears and read clifford books at school. She is the first to tell you who steps one foot out of line. She had a great time. We are now eating our turkey slider sandwhiches and getting ready for nap. Oh and Jesse supervises of course. He likes his new high chair and Addison does too. I like that it reclines all the way back and he can be elevated to see what we are doing.

Addie started calling Jesse Bubby. I think it came from buddy and just stuck. Both kids are doing well and we can count many blessings. Addie still has a strong will and backbone but we love her all the well. Potty training is making some progress. Bubby is real tubby and doing fine.

the Jailbreak DFW

Jared and I and some good friends ran a mud run called the Jailbreak in Dallas this Saturday. It was a 5k with obstacles involving mud. It was great fun! Special thanks to our very supportive family that drove in town to help watch our little ones while we ran. Mr. Bubby and Addison did well and again we are really thankful for family help. The run was great and I'm still washing mud off. Our shirts say pink mambas. We wanted a team name and couldn't think of anything else. I think next time we are going to dress as the Flinstones. Barney, Fred, Wilma and Betty. Anywho, very tired and still washing mud away!

Great Day at the Office

Today the Kings had a lazy day at the office. Yard work, naps, dancing to Tangled with Daddy. Jared has a soft spot for dancing with our cute blondie....He danced more with her than with Mommy. We are going to work on that! Jared and Addison went to run errands at O'Reilly, Walmart, and Costco. Addison wants to be where ever Jared goes. They washed my car and part of the Oldsmobile. Jared even had help with putting the serpentine belt and tire back on the car. Addison likes to help with the dishes (unloading and loading). They watched her favorite movie, Tangled together and even cat napped on the couch. Addison and Jared grilled our hotdogs for dinner and she got to play outside on her playground.

Jesse is smiling more than ever and this is the best one we have been able to get on film. It's not his ear to ear smile yet but we will get it. He is getting cuter and chubbier by the day. We are truly blessed. He may not sleep much during the day but he only gets up once in the night around 2:30am and 7:00am. Jared still acts tired but I am thrilled.

Last night Jared and Luke worked on the Oldsmobile and are repairing it again tonight. It sounds weird but it is a small victory that Jared now has the time to work on a car with a friend. In Houston, as people up here would say, we would have to just take it to the shop because we didn't have the time. But here, it's convenient for Jared to learn or try to fix the car with a friend. John, Papaw, was really helpful over the phone and Jared is just happy to have the time to try to do it. It is such a blessing to be able to fellowship with another couple. Dinner and working on cars was fun! He has such a great attitude about it. Also, attached are some pictures of my boy taking a bath with his monkey towel and Addison helping the boys work on the car. So in love with my little man. Last night he woke up at 2:30am and that's it. Quite the blessing and it felt great waking up at 6:30am. I can totally do that. I'm sure it won't be a pattern yet but the self soothing is working for us and we are thankful. Jared is still complaining of no sleep, not sure why and I am just elated. I was so tired I found myself praying more and more about and reminding Jared you ought to be praying for us two. Just happy it is getting better. :)

Houston Trip

Our family is sure going through the changes. Addison sleeps through anything but Jared and I are still adjusting to the sleepless nights. Jesse eats us out of the house but only sleeps while being held. We are weening him off that and starting to let him cry himself to sleep. It usually works within ten minutes otherwise he is up. I'm trying to do this during the day as well so it isn't a shock to Addison at night. Last night was a record for us sleeping until 1 am and then up again at 4am. I can deal with that. both times I let him cry himself to sleep in his room in his crib. Jared is sleeping a lot better and my back is better since I am not sleeping with a baby in a recliner or couch. He is a sweetie though. This week I start taking some classes at the gym just for me. I realize that I work all the time. (During the day and through the night). I wasn't thinking about this although it is really rewarding. We got a package the other day with the Little Mermaid in it and can't figure out where it came from. If you sent it thank you, she loves it. Addison is making head way with her potty training and went poo poo once unprompted. We were really proud. Jared talks to her about it every night. This last weekend we went to Houston and got to see Nana and Papaw and Grammy and Papaw. Jared got us an evening at the Houstonian thanks to his cousin Justin. It was really nice. We went to an AStros game Friday night with Nana and Papaw, it was a lot of fun and thank you guys. Jesse slept through most of the game and I wish there was more to see. They asked for him to play but we thought he was still too young. Earlier that day Addison and the family went to an AStros Buddy event. She got a hat and lunch box. She got balloons and got to sit in the dug out. She had a great time and was truly red in the face when done. Later this weekend we visited Friendswood where my parents live and some friends from Katy came over. It was really great to see them. jared went on a bike ride with my dad sunday morning. He loved riding the goldwing. That's all he talked about on the way home. I reminded him not to get any ideas about another bike for a while.

Home life right now is really different. Addison and I get up every morning and make Jared's breakfast and lunch and then send him off. I have mixed emotions about not going to work. I see all the school supplies go on sale at the grocery store and walmart and it makes me teary eyed. Weird I know, since most teachers are dreading going back. But believe me, I am truly happy and blessed to have this opportunity with my family. Addie has been telling her daddy, "Daddy don't go to work". It's really sweet and makes Jared wince every time. She reminds him to take his lunch and don't forget his snack. We then go to the gym every day at 10am and see Jared just before lunch. Addison plays and takes a great nap. I think she thinks everyone eats turkey sandwhiches for lunch and takes a nap at noon. We tell her most people do so that she naps. So Papaw's if she asks you also take a nap every day. Addison likes to color on Jared's lunch sack in the mornings and I don't think Jared minds as well. She is starting to help more. She likes to unload the dishes and loads the silverware. I don't mind either. She likes to come over to Jesse and say, "Jesse is cute mommy" and I say, "Addie you are cute". Which she replies "you are cute mommy." This happens like three times daily.

Every day run the dishes, do a load of laundry and try to keep this circus clean before Jared gets home. I'm starting to train for our Warrior Dash this week and look forward to just the little time I have three days a week to myself. My friends from Katy ISD and myself started a book club and that's next on my list to read. Things are going well just different and weird feeling from the last 7 years routine.

Addison is already talking about her birthday party. Sometimes she wants a princess party and sometimes a cowgirl boots party. She talks of wearing party hats and eating lots of cake. Her birthday isn't until Thanksgiving and this makes us all laugh. she has an imaginary dog that she walks daily. We tell her she can't take it to the child center, NO DOGS Allowed. She likes to play Eye Spy with colors. She often puts people in time out and talks about being nice but you are in time out for two minutes. She told me she wasn't happy with me the other day. We are really going to have to watch what we say. She is praying at supper and bedtime too. It's really cute. Often we can't understand other than the occasional Mommy, Daddy, Jesse, Addie, Papaw and Grammy, Nana, Mamaw. Funny and sweet at the same time. Addison is all girl and sometimes tries on four pairs of shoes or clothes before deciding. It is often frustrating but when we step back and discuss it we find it humerous. Sometimes she certainly looks like Punky Brewster and doesn't match at all but she is happy with her independence.

A Month old

Our laptop is maxed out on space and we are currently having issues with our external hard drive but here are a couple of pictures that make us smile. Addison loves stickers and this is what she looks like when unsupervised with them. She loves to take care of her brother and often covers him with blankets and pillows. We also have to watch our little mother hen with this. Jesse is starting to smile but real hard to get on camera.....so sweet though. Enjoy!

Visits from friends and the new us

Our little man has been just a blessing. We are a challenge at night but to be expected. Jesse is starting to smile but they are quick so we haven't caught one on film yet. We had some friends from Denver come in town to meet Jesse. They were great with the kids. Then the following weekend our friends from Baytown, TX visited. It has been nice. Addie folded a paper airplane. It looks like a folded sheet of paper but she was so proud.

Our first couple of weeks as four

Our first couple of weeks as four family members has been a bit challenging to say the least but we have adjusted well. Addison is still acting out and trying to get some attention. We are constantly working on behavior and having Daddy and other family and friends come and take Addie to the pool, park or just run errands so that she feels special. We still go to the gym every day for play and we have stuck to our routine pretty well for play, lunch and nap. Jesse has only once not decided to sleep at the same time as sister. He is a good baby. He is up most nights at 1am and 5am and that's about it. We put him down around 10:30 every night. Every day gets a little easier. Thankfully, Addison doesn't mind his crying and Jesse doesn't seem to wake from Addison's tantrums. We are trying to get back on track with potty training Addison again. Not much success but still working on it. Jesse is going to eat us out of the house. He is now 9 pounds at 2 weeks and was 8 pounds 6 ounces at birth. He is a great baby. He spits up some but we have learned just to burp him regularly so that he doesn't spit up. Addison says and does cute things every day. Except yesterday when she locked me out of the house without keys, cell phone, and both kids inside the house. She turned the knob lock on the garage door and giggled the whole time. What seemed like an eternity was only 3 minutes and she unlocked it. We spent quite some time in time out for it and hopefully it doesn't happen again. She seems remorseful at times and then two seconds later her attention is diverted to something else. Jesse was crying in the car earlier this morning and she told him, "Don't cry buddy, Daddy is at work." She cracks me up. She loves surprises of the littlest kind and especially loves spending time with her daddy. She is very literal right now. She crawled in bed the other morning and got centimeters from Jared's face and said, "Daddy wake up, It's me Addison King." Anywho, she is a trip and we are loving our newest addition. We will surely keep you folks posted and enjoy!

Our first errands out

It is hard to describe the feeling of the car ride home from the hospital with Jesse in the back, knowing with Addie too our little car, our home was complete. We did it. I'm not sure how sometimes but our family felt good and whole since we found out we were carrying a child. We have been so blessed as well. We have been supported every step of the way with our family's and friends encouragement and blessings. At the top of this blog there are pictures of my kids, weird saying kids, as we get ready to go to the drive in bank first and then home. This afternoon we visit the doctor for Jesse and me to visit with the lactation consultant. If there is one thing you could lift us up for is that we will eventually get to breastfeed. Jesse is having latching on issues and I am engorged trying to relax, release and get him fed. We are supplementing right now but I am frustrated and emotional trying to make this work. I'm home and I eagerly want this to work.

Jesse loves his swing our old sitter Mayra gave us. It helps when I am trying to multitask around the house and with Addison. He is currently sleeping there and doing well. We will update you later after our doctor visit and let you know what was said. I pray that whatever happens I have done my very best on my side and my part that I can't feel guilty later if things don't work out for my plans. With the move we have certainly learned that His plans are always greater and better than I can ever imagine or conjure up. Love you all and talk to you soon!

Introducing Mister Jesse Miles King. He came into the world at 10:30 am weighing 8 pounds 6 ounces and 19 and a quarter inches long. Just perfect. I am forever in love with another Mister King.

Backyard Fun and Still Waiting

Addie is becoming such a big girl. She wanted her toes painted like at Mamaw's house. So I took her to my ladies at Eva Nails and they charged us five dollars for her toes and finger nails to be painted and then they put cute flowers on her toes. She sat still mostly and enjoyed every minute of the attention. These are her new big girl sandals to show off her "paint" as she calls it. We started potty training again with m&m's this time in a jar in the bathroom. She gets one m&m for doing number one and two m&m's for doing number two. She was successful yesterday but still gets flustered and doesn't understand why she doesn't get "chocolate" when pooping in her diaper. Or my favorite when "mommy nothing come out" and she still wants candy. She is learning for sure.

Attached is a picture of some rabbits that like to hang out in our back yard. Many times the "wabbits" like to scamper across our yard and Jared and Addie enjoy following them.

We are having contractions but not close enough to get going to the hospital yet. I sent Jared to work and the rest of us are here at the house waiting it out. Lindsey, my younger sister, is a gem for helping hold down the fort here at the King Estate. More news when there is some.

Baby Update June 27th (39 weeks)

We saw the doctor this morning. I have high blood pressure. Never in my life have I ever had high blood pressure. My doctor says it is directly related to stress and I need to just relax. Well I am done with walking and trying to make things happen. I have decided to fully believe in the fact that there is a greater plan and GOD is in control. I find it most difficult to let go and just wait. I am by no means the most patient person, ask my parents about Christmas's in the past. I think this is also more difficult because I am such a literal, middle school mathematics teacher. I wish he would just make his appointment and come on time but life and child birthing doesn't work like that. Thankfully Jared is being super daddy and taking care of things at the house it seems effortlessly. He is cool as a cucumber and as he questioned me last night, "Do you believe God is in control?" Of course, but easier said than done. Jared took Addison to the park yesterday and got her all red faced and then bathed her. She so looks forward to time with him and is his little shadow. Several times now she walked up to people and said, "This is my daddy". Just melts his heart as you can imagine. She is becoming more verbose by the day and her facials and reactions are just priceless. We played the "I spy the color...." game the other day in the store. She liked it a lot and we will probably play it again to pass the time in the store. So July 6th is our day if Mr. Jesse Miles King doesn't come sooner.

Addison has been waking up around 7am every day and crawling into bed with us. She will lay there for about 20 minutes then wants to poke at her Daddy until he gets up. This morning he folded and turned on cartoons immediately and this is what I found after using the restroom this morning. I love these moments.

Induction Date

We will be inducing Jesse Miles on July 6th at 7:30am if he doesn't come sooner. We are walking twice a day now, sometimes a little jog and squats and lunges. I'm not doing too much. Don't worry, I haven't had any pain with these things. We are just hoping he comes on his own time and soon. More details to come. The exercise helps my nerves and helps me sleep better. I'm going to try curb walking next. We will see....

Here are some old photos and new. Here are some items that are awaiting Jesse when he arrives. His room wouldn't be complete without his Houston Astros gear. Here also you will see some outfits awaiting him. We are really anxious to meet our little man. We haven't decided on a date for induction yet but the earliest the doctor will do it is June 28th. We were thinking maybe July 1st or 2nd. We will see. I hope he comes before then. We are walking twice a day in hope to help things along. At the bottom of this post are some pictures of Addison around November and December of 2010. There were on my camera and couldn't resist. Again, we are abundantly blessed by our circumstances and this seems to be the worst part of pregnancy for me. the waiting.

Summer Ideas

I have been looking at ideas for Addison this summer. Especially with me being so big. She loves playing at Lifetime and that is just such a blessing to have for her and myself. This is something else I'm glad I stumbled upon. I look forward to taking my sister with us and having family be able to take Addison as well. We will let you know how it goes. We paid full price for my ticket to go see Kung Fu Panda 2 today at 10:30am but Addison is free. We will keep you posted on the cheap fun this summer!

And Waiting....Lots of Change

So lots of change. I'm sorry I still don't have our pictures up. It's in a box. Being a stay at home is challenging. We have had to change some of our living habits as well as change our schedule. Our mazda 6 was acting out again after many dollars had been put into it, so after further thought and prayer we purchased a Hyundai Elantra. It gets 40 miles to the gallon and fits two car seats. Jared crunched numbers and made it work for our new budget. To say the least we are blessed. Our new daily schedule is up with daddy in the morning, making him breakfast and just loving on him. I never thought it would become so valuable but it's nice. I know we will be much busier when Jesse gets here but now is nice too. We do a load of dishes a day and sometimes a load of laundry a day. We get to the gym every day by 10am so that she can run around the play center and get some socialization with other kids. I have been taking it easy in the cafe there reading or being on the internet. At about 11:15 I go get her and Jared says good bye. We go home eat some sandwhiches for lunch and then take a nap. Some days its two hours and on really fortunate days she will sleep almost three hours. I made the mistake the other day of telling her we were going to the library when she woke up from her nap. She didn't sleep much. I guess the excitement of the butterfly room was too much. When she woke all she could scream in excitement about was going to the brary and read books. Really cute! She asked me in the car the other day if I loved baby Jesse and when I replied yes she said, "I love baby Jesse too."

Sweet moments for sure. We are 9 months now and awaiting some more for Jesse to get here. We ordered Addison a big sister shirt and a baby brother shirt for Jesse. The other pictures that are posted here are people on etsy that have made these cute outfits for boys. we haven't ordered them but I'm thinking about it. we are pretty ready for Jesse's arrival. We just need to hang his letters in his room over his crib. jared informed me they wouldn't be hung by ribbon because he is a boy but he will put them on the wall.

Last weekend my parents came to visit. It was really nice and wish we had more time with them. They watched Addison so we could see a movie for our 6 year anniversary. It was nice and we are thankful. Daddy and Jared decked the attic and then my in-loves came by and also helped. Jared has his bike back and it has already brought him so much joy to have it here. The garage is almost clear for the car and bike. After this weekend we will be able to do it. We still have a washer and dryer we are giving to a friend of ours and until the mean time we are storing them in our garage.

We have been watching the Mavericks play on TV with friends that live down the street every other night. They don't have kids yet and are pretty great with Addison. We are not Maverick fans but it has been fun to watch them in the series with the Miami Heat.

I saw the doctor on Monday, we had some progress but not much. She said I could deliver tomorrow or in three weeks. She sounded real positive and was pleasant to talk to. She wanted me to definitely pack a bag now and get a pediatrician. I told Jared I didn't want to induce this time so he could have that adventurous car ride to the hospital but I know I say that now. If I'm 41 weeks I will probably be open to anything. More updates soon to come. But this experience has been a challenging but very rewarding one in deed so far. We count ourselves blessed to be experiencing it.

We are here in Dallas

Well we are here in Dallas but not without some excitement!

We are really blessed by the help and support from friends and family that have helped put our new house together. It is a nice house, more pictures to come but we haven't found the camera cord yet. I know where it is but it is in a stack of boxes. We just yesterday have internet and tv. Jared has done a great job or trying to make our move as easy as possible. Our car is acting out again so we will see what the Lord has in store for our family vehicle. Addison has taken to staying home with mom well but still likes to go see daddy at work and play in childcare. She started her big girl bed the night we got here in Carrollton and has only tried to get out once....cross my fingers. Jared did a great job of being theatrical about it on the five hour drive up here. By the time she got here she was all wound up about it. We have had a lot of rain the last four days since our coming here. Our ac went not completely out on Saturday but not as great as it could have been. The rain has been a real blessing with the temperature. Then last night tornadoes came through Dallas and we had a local tornado siren go off. We all hunkered down in the guest bath room. Addison thought it was quite exciting since it was bed time. Our new doctor is really sweet. Very peppy and enthusiastic. Jesse Miles is still measuring on schedule and I still say I'm not making to Independence Day. The doctor took measurements and a sonogram of Jesse's heartbeat. So of course then Addison wanted her tummy measured and her heartbeat checked. She climbed up on the table and lifted her shirt up. Really funny.

So all in all we are doing well, just settling in. I'm becoming domesticated and enjoying it. We get up and make Jared's breakfast with Addison and lunch for the day. Then we send him off for the day and visit once during work.

On a side note Addison calls baby powder now OOOh Oooh monkey butt because of her pawpaw. Makes anyone laugh in the room and ask, "What did she say?" But she prefers baby powder fresh in her diaper. That's next on our list hopefully before Jesse gets here.

Weekend of May 7th

One week down, and two more to go before we are Carrollton, Texas residents. It has been challenging but every day we are amazed at how supportive and loving our friends and family have been. I am taking friday off so that I can help with Jared clean the house. We are truly blessed. We had a dinner last night with some old high school friends and college cheerleader friends. Love them. Also, we got to see Nana and Papaw on Saturday and Grammy and Papaw for breakfast on Sunday Mother's Day. We sure enjoyed the visit. Addison sure loved seeing her daddy. I think I still get more torn up than she does with good byes but she has been mostly great....only a few two year old incidents but we are doing better. The garage is packed four boxes high and the house is similar but I know we will be there soon. Please don't ask me where something is, it would be an adventure finding it. Enjoy and we will talk to you soon in the next upcoming weeks. Oh, baby Jesse Miles is doing fine. We didn't gain any weight in the last two weeks, so doctor Zimmerman wants me to just settle down and eat. Our new doctor at 34 weeks will be Doctor Webster of Plano. My cousin Melanie uses her and we are pleased to have a doctor. Happy Mothers Day!

I'm married to the best guy.....he is already in Dallas and wants to make Addison and I feel the most comfortable that we can with the move. He is surprising Addison with this play set for the back yard when we get there in two weeks. She is going to go bonkers. I know she will love it!

Moving to the Big D

Well, we are moving to Dallas to follow a promotion Jared was offered. It makes us sad to leave my family, great job and doctor but we feel this is what God has called us to do. Tenatively I will be a stay at home mom for a year unless a teaching position comes available that we just can't pass up. Jesse is still due in June, late June. Jared and I are looking at houses in Carrollton or Plano on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Lifetime Fitness has more than exceeded our expectations in the moving process. We have never been moved before. Our house was put on contract with three offers after less than 24 hours. God offers his provisions in more abundance than I could have ever asked for. Our house is listed on Har.com if you are interested in seeing. We had three offers and still have people coming to stop to see if it is still for sale. It's in the ten day option period now and we are waiting on the inspection. Our buyer offered full price with 20% down. We feel confident but I will keep you posted. Praise the Lord! His mercy abounds! Pray that we find a rent home in a great neighborhood this week. Not many options but we are probably looking in Plano and I hear lots of nice things about Plano. Jared and I close on the house May 9th and we lease it back for a week until May 15th. My last day is May 20th at work and then Addison and I will drive to Dallas. The tenative plan is that Jared will move with our house May 6th or May 15th. Addie and I will stay here and have a co-worker, awesome friend and mentor we will love with for a week until time to depart. We have been abundantly blessed with family and friends offering to help us pack and move and pack my room at school. This whole thing is sure helping with the anxiousness I felt last time waiting on the baby to arrive. I hate surprises and I would love to just have our baby. Addison is being two but our potty training is progressing. She is doing a great job of doing Number 1 in the potty but Number 2 is still too important to do in our pants. She wants to be rocked to sleep now which hasn't happened in a while. I'm pretty sure because she knows Jesse is coming. She has a good idea about Jesse now, no confusion. But the moving is a different story. I told her we were moving and she replied, "To Pawpaw's house?" No baby. We will see. She wants to wear a princess dress and or a the same t-shirt for three to four days in a row. I think she takes after her daddy. She pulls clothes out of the laundry hamper and wants to wear them. She sings, "He's got the whole world in His hands". I've learned not to sing certain songs at bedtime because it riles her up. Funny. Videos and Photos to come. She is also quite the shadow to Jared, and my Dad. Wants to help feed the dog, water the yard and basically do whatever daddy does. Very cute. Enjoy and we will keep you posted.

Spring Break 2011

Spring break was a great success. We got many things done. Jared and I played golf, did landscaping in the yard, and Mamaw and Papaw came to visit and help with house projects. Lots of fun. The boys installed a new garbage disposal, installed blinds and put up two gates connecting the house to the fence. Quality work I might add. So impressed. Addie was of course along for the ride. At times it made it challenging to get things done but we wouldn't have it any other way. Jared and I played golf in Sealy, TX on Tuesday. Man it felt good. Jared thought it was real funny I was in the trees and video recording but I showed him and put in on the green from the trees at about yards. He's cute. Sorry that my jacket is so short. I wasn't planning on wearing it but it was colder than I expecting that morning. Sunday after spring break was my 30th birthday....Shh! don't tell, it does bother me for some silly reason. I passed my glue cose test at the doctor and we are well on our way for Jesse to get here. We are currently in the process of deciding whether or not to take a promotion to Dallas or not....but I think we will. Crazy moving at 7, 8, 9 months pregnant but as my friend Karla would say, "Leigh, you pick up your big girl panties and do whatever you need to do to encourage and support your man." I love Karla and she's right. I love him more than anything and we can put a nursery anywhere and who knows what God has in store for us. It could be far much better than we could ever imagine hear in Katy.

Rodeo Houston 2011

Jared took Addie and I to the rodeo yesterday. Addie rode the poney after crying and wasn't going to. Peer pressure. She saw two boys hop on and yell yee haw and just had to try it again. It was a great day. I'm almost 6 months pregnant and Addie being 2 years we didn't stay long. We got there at 9am and were done by noon. We saw cows, brahmas, steers, horses, and lots of calves. We met a rodeo clown that was really nice and just enjoyed walking around the livestock show. Addie was approached several times with owners of cows asking if she wanted to pet them or brush them but she was not interested. Addie stayed in her stroller more this year...surprising I know. Jared and I enjoyed the rodeo food. He ate a potatoe and pulled pork sundae. Weird but he loved it. I stuck to breakfast tacos. Jared bought Addison a large cookie but really it was a cookie cake. Her favorite thing to do at the rodeo irronically was riding the open air shuttle too and from the parking lot. It was like a train of go carts. She did wonderful. It was a great day and great company. Next year we will have our hands even more full. Addison was asleep in the car before we were out of the parking lot and well I was soon after that. Poor daddy.

Lifetime Fitness Daddy Daughter Dance

Sorry that it has been so long since my last post. I have been so sick. Like brush my teeth and I get sick, 9pm, 7am, I'm getting sick. On Zofran and it didn't do the trick. Food hated me and I couldn't think of a single item of food that would sound good. well finally at almost five months pregnant I am not as sick. I'm walking and in the gym again, feeling almost human. We are starting to get into the swing of we are having a boy. It's just so weird to think about when all we have known and raised was girl. Jesse Miles will truly be a blessing in our home. Here is something Jesse will not get to experience: a Daddy Daughter Dance. Addie was really excited. She picked out her dress and princess pearls. She was also excited to get to wear her glittery shoes. Well the dance went as well as we had hoped. She wasn't much into dancing with dad as much as running around the gym floor and chasing the strobe lights. She enjoyed the food and twirling around in her dress but that's as much dancing as we got to see of her. Hopefully she doesn't take after her dad...jab. Hee Hee. I love to dance and I wish Mr. King liked to dance more. Love him. More posts soon to come. We are celebrating Valentines early this year at Hasta La Pasta Wednesday night. We get another ultra sound on Wednesday at 4pm and afterwards are having dinner Addie-less. Please enjoy this post and more posts soon to come.

Christmas 2010

Christmas this year came and gone so quickly. We made a gingerbread house with Daddy and a couple evenings a week he would take Addison and I to see Christmas lights. She would oooh and ahhh about them. She thought they were candles and would pretend to blow them out. One of our favorites is posted and is in a neighborhood called Prestonwood in Cypress North Houston. Each street has a theme and it was wonderful to visit. Christmas was extra special this year with Addison. She didn't quite understand Santa and in fact she cried when we took her to see him. Another picture to come. But the excitement and joy on her face was truly an experience. Church was more meaningful than ever, and our blessing of having another child as well. Most of these pictures are from Christmas morning in Friendswood. It was cold, 45 degrees. So when you see Addison in a giraffe suit she has a full set of clothes on underneath and this was a warm option she really wanted to wear. I was concerned that her ears would be covered because it was awful windy. She hasn't quite gotten the hang of the tricycle yet. Her daddy lowered the seat with a wrench so of course it was "broken" and she wanted to work on it too. She has a wrench in her hand and is pretending to fix it.

The other night when Jared was hooking up some cable wires to the surround sound, I tried to keep Addison away because all she kept saying was, "Daddy is broke? is it stuck? What ya doing? I wanna watch Cars." I silently chuckled to myself and tried to let the man work....but funny.

A Royal Flush

Jared, Addison and I would like to announce we are welcoming our next bundle of joy on July 4th. We are truly blessed and excited for how our lives are going to change. I am having scanner issues but as soon as possible we will be posting our new baby pictures. I think girl but have no idea. Again, we are truly blessed and have been praying that God would bless us with this precious gift. Thank you Jesus!

Addison and our little family have been doing well. Addison can now tell you what color bowl she wants (blue, red or green). we are currently working on yes and yes mam. Yes has not come out yet or not very often. I here ok and please a lot. We ate spaghetti today. My mom made it last time and Addie really enjoyed it. It's a mess but such a joyful memory for us. we take our family pictures on Tuesday. Cross our fingers that all goes well. Jared is off with her that day. I hope the weather is nice. We picked a couple of places in old Katy. The weather has been great and we sure are enjoying Addison. Jared took her to the library and an old folks home on his day off. He is the greatest.

So this post has a lot of different events. The first of the pictures is from our Halloween party at a co-worker's house. Jared and I were Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter. Jared was a good sport and actually wore it to work. Many people wanted to take pictures with him. I laughed because the other day someone said, "Are you Carrot Top?" Then we have pictures from Addison's Fall Festival at Lifetime Fitness. Lastly, there are pictures from Jared and Addie carving the pumpkin. Her grandad came to town from Smithville camping trip. Addison was excited to see and hear his stories.

Flu

Addison tested positive for the flu on Thursday. We tried another pediatrician and I really liked the office and doctor. They pride themselves on getting the baby in right away and the same day. She had 103 temperature. I felt like such a bad mom because she was bouncing up and down so much I knew she had fever but I didn't know how high. We immediately started Tamiflu and she also had two ear infections. We had a Disney movie marathon at our house and just wanted to be cuddly all day. I miss that....when Addison would let us hold her, rock her and lay on the couch together. It still happens sometimes but she is pretty independent these days. She laid on the couch all day just drinking fluids and looking real sad. She perked up by the evening and we tried to do nothing this weekend to just recooperate. Of course when Daddy got home she was all smiles. We were really blessed to have my sister in town. I took off Thursday and when she didn't have fever on Friday Lindsey watched her til I got home at three. Again, we are really grateful she was able to do that for us. She was feeling much better as of Friday afternoon. How do I know this? She was in time out three times that evening for being Miss Sassy Britches. Love her and I'm glad she is feeling better.

Addison, Jared and I went to Texas State Football on Saturday when Jared got off work. It was late in the afternoon and we made the drive all the way to San Marcos. The box suite was really nice and John Edgar paid for our hotel room. We were truly blessed to have been able to go. We have some pictures of breakfast at an old Kettle in San Marcos. We took pictures of this cereal because it was definitely questionable whether it was puppy chow or kashi cheerios. Whatever, Addie liked it.

The video that you are seeing was in the morning and the slide was very wet. We have watched it over and over and laughed histerically. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did. I didn't mean to push her.

Growing Up

Addison this week got a big girl potty and Mayra bought Addison some big girl panties. She has been reading her potty books and putting big girl panties over her diapers. We will see. I'm not pushing it. She will be two at Thanksgiving. Attached are pictures of some time Jared and Addison have spent together on his days off. New park in Katy, bathtime, and the potty in our living room. We will see but one thing I know for sure and that's We are Truly Blessed with a wonderful child.

This morning Jared had to work. He left about 7:40. Shortly after, Addison started calling my name. When I went in there poop was everywhere. It wasn't the cute little poop that babies tend to do, it was the dirty D. Everywhere in her ears, hair and entire body. I told Jared if we had lived in the country I would have hosed her off in the yard. But, because we don't I have spent all day washing the tub, all four of her blankets, 3 stuffed animals, pillow, mattress pad and sheets. We are still recovering. She is fine and happy as can be but we are trying to figure out what is giving her the D. We have cut out all diary at this point and raisins. She is on a banana and carbs diet. She is drinking water, gatorade and pedialite. Pray that we never have to experience that again but other than that Addison is a happy girl. She pretending to put her babies asleep, feed them and put them in time out. She says I love you now and is starting to say no thank you and thank you. She loves to say Paw Paw over and over again, as well as thank you thank you. She can say sleep and hold her finger to her mouth. She likes to push her shopping cart around the room and pretend to shop. She loves to play with Daddy in any fashion. She especially enjoys swimming and playing outside with Daddy.
